College Essay Advice

A general question for a college application essay is, “Why Us?” The university wants to know why the applicant is choosing this particular university. A common, but boring, answer is for the applicant to write about how great and prestigious the university is. Sadly, this is not the answer the admission officer and universities want to read. They already know how good they are and want to read about how great the applicant is. They want to know what advantages the applicant has over other students. So, when you are working on your college application essay and see the question “Why Us?” what you need to write and think about is “Why is this university a good fit for me.”
